A big “Thank you!” to our users and friends!
Hello everyone,
For the past few years, it’s been our primary concern to help improve operational and functional aspects of the Open Source Tools for Renesas support platform.
As a consequence, from a functional perspective, the toolchains we have released over the years have not only gained momentum in terms of speed efficiency and code size optimizations, but also transitioned to more supported formats, on multiple platforms (including, but not limited to, Windows, Linux and MacOS X). At the same time, we’ve strived to make sure that the same toolchains that we have released on this support platform are also easily integrated into e2 Studio, for a streamlined development process overall. We therefore want to thank you, our users, for staying with us on this journey!
Today, we’re announcing another update, this time concerning the support platform itself. In order to significantly improve the access and download speeds for our users worldwide, we have deployed a content-delivery network that will, from now on, support all major areas of the globe to sustain increased download speeds, when accessing the toolchains themselves or their source code. In fact, moving forward, all important downloadable content (beginning with regular toolchain releases) will be held and distributed through our content-delivery network. LLVM for Renesas versions 10.0.0.202309 and 10.0.0.202310 (both available at this link) are already hosted on the new delivery network, and you should already see an increase in the speed, no matter if you are accessing them from Asia, US or Europe. We hope this contributes to a better and more efficient experience on our support platform!
Please feel free to let us know if you have any concerns regarding this update. We would be happy to hear back from you.
Thank you for using and supporting our work!

Yours,
The Open Source Tools Team
